The academic version of Arena can be installed on machines in a computer lab or cluster for use by all students, or on a student's machine for his or her individual use.

Rockwell Automation also offers a research software package specifically designed for use by professors and graduate students performing independent or graduate-level research. Research versions of Arena Professional are available. Each package offers fully functional model-building and animation capabilities and is intended for complex model construction.
This discrete event simulation software can be used for teaching and research purposes only . It is only available to full-time university professors, and it cannot be used for consulting or commercial purposes.
