Software patch 6.00.03
(This patch is intended for updating the 6.00.02 version.) -- (July 11, 2002)
The following issues have been corrected in the 6.00.03 Patch release of the software:
General:
- Arena—Corrected a problem related to Time Patterns. Time spans are now updating resource capacities at the right time.
- Arena—Data would sometimes disappear from nested spreadsheet view. This has been corrected.
- Arena—A runtime problem that generated ISET, RSET errors, and sent warning messages that didn't match the limits has been corrected.
- Factory Data Model Import—Operation Parameters Boolean values are now importing properly.
- OptQuest—User Defined variables are now included in the list of controls.
Template-related:
- Contact Center Edition—In the Queue for Agent Module, when Longest Available or Uniform by Availability was chosen for the Parent Group Selection Rule, the First Available rule was always used. This is now corrected.
- Packaging Edition—The Split module previously supported a maximum of 10 branches. This limit has now been increased to 20 branches.

ARENA CONTACT CENTER EDITION
Current shipping version: 6.00.02
Software patch available -- May 15, 2002
This patch fixes a problem with the Arena 6.00.02 Call Center Template. The template incorrectly uses the “First Available Rule” for parent group selection even if “Uniform by Availability” or “Longest Available” was specified in models, resulting in incorrect agent utilizations.
To correct this problem, unzip the file (CCE60Patch.zip) and copy the .Tpo files (UtlArena.tpo, CSUtil.tpo, Contact Data.tpo, and Script.tpo) into the \Arena\template folder. To activate the corrected features, relaunch Arena and reload the model in Arena.

- Costing statistics are now properly calculated when an entity undergoes a Separate or Split.
- Multiple replication models containing schedules now run to completion. Previously, isolated models ran to a point and then hung.
- A specific user model that caused command-line SIMAN to crash now runs to completion.
- The Process Analyzer now displays a correct average across multiple replications when the first replication has zero observations.
- The Process Analyzer now supports running in Academic mode.
- Packaging Edition flow calculations in the Split algorithm have been modified to avoid round-off errors. Previously, under certain circumstances, a model might appear to hang.
When unzipping the files in the Arena folder, you must select the options to Overwrite Existing Files and Use Folder Names.

BASIC, STANDARD, OR ProfessionalS
- The Statistic module from AdvancedProcess now writes Counter output files properly when combined with a Set module from the BasicProcess panel. Previously, the output filename was removed.
- Custom template modules that use the Fixed_RES50 element type now write the Resources element properly. Previously, Arena shut down when trying to view/write/check or run.
- Defining a set of stations via the Advanced Transfer panel's Station module writes a correct Stations element. Previously, some models generated a Station -1 that prevented the model from running.
- Checking a model behaves as expected. Previously, under specific conditions, Arena might crash or appear to hang.
- Various typos and/or links have been corrected in the help files.
- Various typos have been corrected in Smarts and Examples files.
CONTACT CENTER EDITION
- The Runtime feature properly limits the number of agents to 100. Previously, the number of agents was limited to 20.
- When running multiple replications, variable values are now reported correctly. Previously, some models returned negative values.
- Multiple Call modules with the same name are now supported. Previously, this returned an error and users were required to provide unique names.
- Animate Agents Add-in now defines proper global expression values. Previously, embedded spaces could cause error conditions.
- Animate Agents Add-in creates global pictures that animate immediately after placing. Previously, users had to edit and Ok each picture before animating.
- The spreadsheet heading in the Transfer to Script module had a typo which has been corrected.
- Modules placed in Arena by the Contact Center Spreadsheet now displayed the correct text on the module. Previously, users had to edit and Ok each module to get the correct text.
- The Call Pattern Editor now interprets call volumes, not percentages. The maximum call volume per time slot allowed in the Call Pattern Editor is 1000. Volumes higher than 1000 are not supported for import or export.
PACKAGING EDITION
- Conveyor sensor variables are now properly cleared between replications. Previously, a run-time error could occur if running multiple replications and using conveyor sensors.
- Round-off errors associated with calculating flow through a Split module have been resolved. Previously, these errors would cause a model to hang.
When unzipping the files in the Arena folder, you must select the options to Overwrite Existing Files and Use Folder Names.

- The use of simultaneous failure events with the WAIT rule now cause the simulation time to progress normally in a particular user model. Previously, the simulation time attempted to move backwards.
- Models that enable conveyor stats via the Run/Setup dialog compile and link properly. Previously, under certain circumstances, a Linker error was generated.
- Models containing certain elements (such as Parameters or Variables) that were converted from Arena 3.x now save with similar file sizes. Previously, the size of the file grew significantly when saved in Arena 4.0.
- Queues added to a model via the automation method now have the Shift property set correctly.
- Preempted entities have their statistics updated appropriately. Previously, under specific conditions, some entities may have incorrectly accumulated time in the wait category.
- Arena correctly stores information regarding embedded objects. Previously, some embedded objects (file attachments, bitmaps, etc.) lost information and would not load in the model.

- Arena correctly displays reports generated by models containing Frequencies. Similar corrections were made for models with warmup time and reports with minor cosmetic errors.
- The Visio Process Simulator (stencil, template, and custom dll) now stores repeat group information even when the data contains commas. Previously, any information after a comma was truncated. {Note: After unzipping the patch, you must move the file ProcessSimulation.dll to your Visio/Solutions/Process Simulation folder.}
- When mapping from Visio shapes to Arena modules, the Visio Process Simulator no longer assumes that all Arena modules have a Name operand. Instead, only data modules are assumed to have a Name operand.
- Data contained in custom properties of a Visio shape may now be mapped to Next Label fields in Arena modules. Previously, this information was not retained.
- Arena displays statistics for modules with long names. Previously, stats were not displayed if the module name exceeded 32 characters.
- Certain user models that were converted from Arena Business Edition 3.6 and did not display the appropriate data modules now do so.
- SIMAN has improved methods for accumulating cost information on entities that continuously loop through Branch, Duplicate, or Copy blocks. Also, if costing is disabled, SIMAN does not accumulate that information at all.
- Arena correctly displays an error message if a non-existing operand is referenced by another operand or switch.
- Arena continues to function properly when opening and closing the picture placement window.
- Arena modules that store properties in nested repeat groups hold their information after saving/closing/reopening.
- Arena properly saves models that contain thousands of stations serially connected by routes.
- The function NSExpo works properly when used as an offset on an arrival.
- Arena correctly displays the proper context-sensitive help for the Basic Process panel modules.
